I spent the night in Mönchengladbach, and then took the train to Frankfurt, by way of Köln (Cologne). I passed the morning looking at the magnificent Köln Dom, one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in Europe, and the largest in Germany.

The newest organ was donated to the cathedral to celebrate its 750th birthday

This cross predates the cathedral - the crucifix was carved over 1000 years ago, and was moved to this cathedral 750 years ago when it was built.
