You may use your class notes and Feynman

Since Caltech has an honor system most exams tend to be take home
and open book. The instructor for the class will write any special
directions at the top of the exam. For a freshman physics exam one
year the instructions read:

You have 3 hours.
You may use your class notes and Feynman.

Law -- As It Should Be

One evening after attending the theatre, two cowboys were walking
down the avenue when they observed a rather well-dressed and
attractive lady just ahead of them. One of them turned to the other
and remarked, "I'd give $50 to spend the night with that
woman." To their surprise, the young lady overheard the remark
and, turning around, said, "I'll take you up on that." She
had a neat appearance and a pleasant voice so after bidding his
companion adieu, the man accompanied the lady to her apartment where
they immediately went to bed.

Flying Pianos Scare Sheep

From The Wall Street Journal

A Scud It's Not, But the Trebuchet Hurls a Mean Piano
Giant Medieval War Machine Is Wowing British Farmers And Scaring the
Sheep

By Glynn Mapes, Staff Reporter of the Wall Street Journal
ACTON ROUND, England

With surprising grace, the grand piano sails through the sky a
hundred feet above a pasture here, finally returning to earth in a
fortissimo explosion of wood chunks, ivory keys and piano wire.

A tall tale on complex forensics presented by AAFS President Don
Harper Mills in his opening remarks. The following is a recount of Dr.
Mills' story...

Radio Shack Q and A

Do these guys at Radio Shack ever get on your nerves, asking you
for a bunch of personal data when you're just there to buy something as
simple as a couple AA batteries? I think we should inconvenience these
people as much as they do us. A while ago I was in Enid buying a printer
cable adaptor and the guy asked me for my name.

No Such Thing

The following is a true story. It amused the hell
out of me while it was happening. I hope it isn't one of those "had to
be there" things.
-- Brett M. Thorson

On my way home from the second job I've taken for the extra
holiday ca$h I need, I stopped at Taco Bell for a quick bite to
eat. In my billfold is a $50 bill and a $2 bill. That is all of
the cash I have on my person. I figure that with a $2 bill, I
can get something to eat and not have to worry about people
getting pissed at me.
